Casimir Thorsby, gray-haired with a long beard and dark-rimmed glasses, against a black backdrop

Casimir Thorsby

Founding partner · closings and 1031 exchanges

Casimir reads closings and exchanges for buyers, sellers and landlords, and holds every file he opens until the deed records.

He spent his first years at a title company, writing the commitments other lawyers now send him. He started the firm to read them for the people signing, at a price they could know in advance.

Most of his clients own one to five rentals. Many of them are on their second or third exchange.

How Casimir runs an exchange

He asks for the sale contract and the intermediary's name on the first call, and sends back a calendar with both deadlines in it.

He drafts the identification letter before the sale closes, so it's waiting for addresses, not for him.

On closing day he's on video for both signings, and he sends a short note once each deed records.
